Jake Mossman began composing and playing the guitar at age 12, then developed his focus on Classical and Flamenco guitar. Before completing his Bachelor's degree in Classical Guitar Performance at the University of New Mexico in 1997, Jake immersed himself in the Flamenco scene created by Maria Benitez in Santa Fe, New Mexico. He also accompanied the dance classes of Pablo Rodarte, classes taught by the Encintildeas family in Albuquerque, New Mexico and their recurring Flamenco Festivals. Together, these turned Albuquerque into a mecca of Flamenco in the United States. His combined study of Classical Flamenco led him on a lifelong journey to find the balance between melody, rhythm, tradition and innovation. After two trips to Spain, Jake relocated to Los Angeles, California in 2000, where he studied with Adam del Monte, regularly performed Flamenco, and taught Flamenco at Pasadena City College. During his third visit to Spain, he met his future wife, and together, they relocated to Las Cruces, New Mexico in 2005. Jake continues to compose and perform Classical and Flamenco Guitar, and is the owner of Las Cruces Music, LLC, dedicated to producing authentic Flamenco concerts in Las Cruces, New Mexico.
